Senate passes Howard government's NT emergency legislation.

Despite some wonderful words of wisdom from the Australian Democrats and the Australian Greens, and despite the complete mismatch between the legislation and the very first recommendations of the “Little Children are Sacred” report, the Australian Senate passed the Howard government’s package of national emergency legislation, Friday 17 August, 2007 approximately between 12:20pm and 12:30pm.The ALP Opposition voted with the Howard Coalition Government.
